Guests are invited to sample a variety of German and autumn-themed tapas and Yuengling beers plus meet the staff of D.G Yuengling & Son at two pairing lunches at Oktoberfest presented by Yuengling, Oct. 6 and 13, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., at SteelStacks in Bethlehem. The culinary events hosted by D.G. Yuengling & Son Plant Coordinator Jennifer Yuengling Oct. 6 and Yuengling Lead Brewer John Callahan Oct. 13 will take place in the Musikfest Café, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem. Tickets, which include admission to Oktoberfest that day, are $64 and on sale now at artsquest.org and 610-332-3378.

During the pairing lunches, guests can enjoy culinary creations prepared by ArtsQuest Center Executive Chef Fred Grant. Beers that will be sampled include Yuengling Lager, Light Lager, Premium, Black & Tan, Oktoberfest and Lord Chesterfield Ale.  Yuengling and Callahan will talk about the characteristics of each beer and the brewing process for each, as well as the rich history of D.G Yuengling & Son, the oldest and largest American owned brewer in the U.S.

The complete pairing lunch menu is:

-Autumn Salad with dry rub chicken, apples, pears and dried cherries drizzled with warm bacon dressing

-Char Grilled Shrimp with butternut squash puree, balsamic reduction and basil oil

-Sauerbraten and Red Cabbage with herb spaetzle

-Open-faced Bratwurst Ruben with warm root vegetable salad

-Roasted “Seckel Pear” with candied bacon

To celebrate the arrival of Oktoberfest, ArtsQuest and D.G Yuengling & Son are also giving away two Oktoberfest ‘fest packages featuring four tickets to a Yuengling pairing lunch, four Oktoberfest Event Passes (valid all six days of Oktoberfest!) and four Oktoberfest mugs.
