CEDARBROOK NURSING HOME, Allentown is in great need of help from 9am-3pm for their Annual Holiday Craft Bazaar on Friday, Nov. 11. Help is needed to escort their residents to the auditorium so they can shop. Volunteers are also needed at the tables, with the bake sale, and with set up and clean up. D & L NATIONAL HERITAGE CORRIDOR, INC., Easton needs Half Marathon Run/Walk volunteers. Volunteers are needed for trail clean up on Fri. Nov. 4, on Sat. Nov. 5 for preparing hydration stations and packet pick up, and especially for race day Sun. Nov. 6. Volunteers staff water stops, start and finish areas, and many places in between. They serve water and food, direct participants at road intersections and crossings, help present medals/awards, and cheer the participants. FOUNTAIN HILL CEMETERY needs volunteers (16+ years) for weeding, trimming of shrubs and weed-whacking in the Green Meadow Natural Burial Ground. LEHIGH COUNTY SPECIAL OLYMPICS, Allentown is looking for an Outreach Coordinator to increase athlete participation. NORTHEAST MINISTRY, Bethlehem has a need for Volunteer Tutors (18+ years) for their After School Homework Club. Help students in grades 1-12 from 3-5pm Monday through Thursday. Tutors provide academic support and mentor students while assisting with homework. Mandatory PA State background checks are required for all tutors. THIRD STREET ALLIANCE FOR WOMEN & CHILDREN, INC., Easton – While Moms and Dads are in a workshop, their children need some volunteers (18+ years) to care for them for 1 ½ hours. Volunteers are needed from 6-7:30pm on Mondays and Thursdays through November 17th. Requests of volunteers may be reading, homework, playing games, etc. All volunteers must have all criminal background checks and TB test.
