2017 Lehigh Valley Music Awards March 5 at SteelStacks

Esteemed Lehigh Valley musicians Scott Marshall, The Hector Rosado Band, The Large Flowerheads and Another Day Dawns lead the list of more than a dozen performers for the 18th Lehigh Valley Music Awards presented by Tri Outdoor, March 5, 4 p.m., at Musikfest Café presented by Yuengling, located at the ArtsQuest Center in Bethlehem. Named Outstanding All-Around Performer at the awards ceremony last year, Scott Marshall returns to the Musikfest Café to perform at the Lehigh Valley Music Awards. A veteran of more than 20 years in the area music scene, playing with bands Marshall’s Highway and Hillbilly Souls, he has won 23 awards at the LVMAs in the past five years including Best Male Artist, Best Male Singer and Best Singer-Songwriter on both fan and industry ballots.

Also taking the stage are Hector Rosado, an accomplished percussionist who has toured nationally and around the globe with David Byrne, Dave Valentine and the legendary Tito Puente; Another Day Dawns, a hard rock/alternative band that’s played throughout the Lehigh Valley as well as the National Association of Music Merchants convention in California; and Musikfest favorites The Large Flowerheads, a ’60s inspired group playing British Invasion, Motown and psychedelic rock.

The evening’s entertainment is led by DJ J.J. Sands, who will take on the role of co-MC for the night, along with co-host, artist Denise Parker. Born and raised in Allentown, DJ J.J. Sands is an LVMA winner and local favorite at area bars and nightclubs.

A partnership between the nonprofit Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association (GLVMA) and ArtsQuest, the Lehigh Valley Music Awards are designed to celebrate the region’s vibrant music industry. During the awards ceremony March 5, the GLVMA will present awards honoring the region’s best performers in a variety of genres including blues, rock, folk, gospel, hip-hop and jazz, as well as recognize local music schools, recording studios, music stores and other local music organizations.

The Lehigh Valley Music Awards presented by Tri Outdoor will take place at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks’ Musikfest Café presented by Yuengling, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.
