Saturday, June 4 “Discovering the Declaration of Independence,” 10 am – 2 pm. Explore the many versions of the Declaration of Independence with Christopher Black at the Bachmann Publick House, 2nd and Northampton Sts., Easton. You will see Black on Easton’s Heritage Day, July 10, at noon when he reads the Declaration of Independence at Centre Square, Easton. $5 donation requested.
Saturday, June 25 “Meet Mammy Morgan,” 10 am – 2 pm. Mammy Morgan, an intrepid Williams Township Revolutionary-era heroine famous for her inn at the top of “Water Tower” portion of Morgan Hill Rd., will relate her experiences as township healer and counselor (Mammy or Mother) to the German-speaking farming populace. Learn about her early experiences as a feisty Quaker daughter who defied her parents’ pacifism to make rifle bullets from her father’s clock. Kim Rose will bring Mammy Morgan to life at the Bachmann Publick House, 2nd and Northampton Sts., Easton. $5 donation requested.
Sunday, July 10 Heritage Day “Meet George Taylor and John Adams,” 1 – 4 pm. As you tour the Bachmann Publick House at 2nd and Northampton Sts., Easton, learn about Durham Ironmaster George Taylor, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence as well as an owner of the Bachmann, at 1 pm. At 2 pm and 3:30 pm, learn about John Adams, another signer of the Declaration of Independence. $2 donation requested.
