Fans will be far from ‘Unconsolable’ when the X Ambassadors, along with special guests Rachel Platten and Jukebox the Ghost, headline Musikfest Aug. 5, with a performance at the festival’s Sands Steel Stage. Tickets are available at musikfest.org and 610-332-3378.
Formed in 2009, the X Ambassadors have quickly gained a following as a result of their smooth vocals and elegant melodies. The band’s “Renegades,” from 2015’s full-length debut VHS, has become an international hit, peaking at No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topping several other Billboard charts. The song was featured in the marketing campaign for Jeep Renegade, plus included in the second series of the television show The Flash.
Among the group’s other popular singles are “Unsteady” and “Jungle” from VHS, and “Unconsolable,” from the Love Songs Drug Songs EP. The band – comprised of brothers Sam and Casey Harris, Noah Feldshuh and Adam Levin – has opened and performed with artists ranging from Jimmy Eat World and The Mowgli’s, to Imagine Dragons, which performed on “Fear” on VHS.
Also performing Aug. 5 are Rachel Platten, best known for the Top 10 hits “Stand by You” and “Fight Song,” and Jukebox the Ghost, which has appeared on Late Show with David Letterman and opened for Barenaked Ladies and Jack’s Mannequin.
The X Ambassadors concert is sponsored by Pennsylvania Lottery, along with media partner B104. One of the largest music festivals in the nation, Musikfest features more than 500 performances on 16 stages throughout Bethlehem over 10 days. Dates for the 33rd edition of the festival are Aug. 5-14, 2016.
