New culinary event pairs region’s beers, wines and spirits with creative cuisine for an unforgettable holiday experience

This holiday season, the Three Wise Men arrive early, bearing gifts of the culinary kind, as the nonprofit ArtsQuest partners with some of the region’s premier wine, beer and spirit makers for the first “Three Wise Men” event Dec. 11, 1 p.m., at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks. Tickets for the new culinary experience, which will take place in the Musikfest Café, are $54 for ArtsQuest Members and $59 for the public and are on sale at www.steelstacks.org and 610-332-3378.

At the Three Wise Men, attendees will enjoy an exquisite afternoon of food and drink featuring presentations from a sommelier, brewmaster and distiller. The event will be highlighted by Trio, an off-dry, oak aged red wine by Franklin Hills Vineyards of Bangor; the warm and cozy Cider Bourbon Smash by Social Still of Bethlehem and Yuengling’s newest seasonal beer, the unique IPL or India Pale Lager. All beverages will be paired with an amazing tapas selection, carefully chosen for the event by ArtsQuest Executive Chef Michael Hoffman; the complete menu for the day will be announced later this fall.

During the Three Wise Men, guests will learn from the experts all of the elements that go into creating and pairing food and beverages for seasonal specialties and classic cuisine. Included are presentations from Kevin Sibbett, brewing lead at D.G. Yuengling & Son;  Elaine Pivinski, owner of Franklin Hills Vineyards; Adam Flatt, owner of the Social Still; and Hoffman.

The ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks is located at 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem. For more information on the Three Wise Men, visit www.steelstacks.org or call 610-332-3378.
