AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY, Greater Lehigh Valley needs volunteers (age 21+) to step up to the “wheel” and drive cancer patients to scheduled treatments. “Road to Recovery” drivers must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, a reliable vehicle and proof of insurance, complete a background check and driver check, and attend a brief orientation.  Call Jennifer Washney, 570-562-9749 x320, Jennifer.washney@cancer.org.

CEDARBROOK NURSING HOME, Allentown needs helpers for cooking/baking activity with residents on Mondays or Fridays from 10-11am or on Tuesdays 1:15-2:15pm.  In-house Beauty Shop transporters needed Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons 1-4pm.   Dedicated Gift Shop volunteers (18+ years) with cash register experience needed for Gift Shop Thursdays and Saturdays 12:30-3:30pm.  Bazaar volunteers needed at Allentown 11/11/16 and Fountain Hill 11/18/16 from 9am-3:30pm.  Criminal History Clearance required and paid by Cedarbrook.  Call Kerry Magliane, 610-336-5684, KerryMagliane@lehighcounty.org.

COMMUNITY BIKE WORKS, Allentown is opening a second bike shop on the East side in the Mosser Village Family Center.  They need volunteers to empty 2 storage rooms, sweep, mop, vacuum, and wash walls.  Time frames are 10am-8pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-5pm on Friday.  Email Dave Przekurat, dprzekurat@communitybikeworks.org.

HISTORIC BETHLEHEM MUSEUMS & SITES needs volunteers for its Annual Turkey Trot 5kRun, a competitive and fun walk, on Sat., Nov. 26.  Volunteers are needed Fri., Nov. 25 and Sat., Nov. 26 to help with registration, be a race marshal, hand out pre-race refreshments, t-shirt handout, and many more tasks.  Call Tavia Minnich, 610-882-0450 x20, Tminnich@historicbethlehem.org.

HOLIDAY HOPE CHESTS needs volunteers to donate shoeboxes filled with age appropriate items for Lehigh Valley’s less fortunate children.  This a great project for large or small groups, clubs, classes, families, and individuals coordinated by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley.  To participate, go to www.volunteerlv.org and fill out a Holiday Hope Chest Donation Registration form.   Filled shoeboxes may be dropped off at 2121 City Line Road, Bethlehem from 10-6pm Tues.11/29, Wed. 11/30, Thurs., 12/1; or Fri. 12/2 from 10am-3pm ONLY.

MEALS ON WHEELS OF LEHIGH COUNTY, Allentown is looking for volunteers (18+ years) to distribute meals to homebound individuals as a substitute volunteer.  No need to commit to a regular schedule.  Teams of 2 deliver on 33 routes throughout Lehigh County.  Drive a route or ride along as a visitor.  Bring a friend and form a team or let us provide a partner for you.   Delivery times are between 11am and 1pm Monday through Friday.  Next training scheduled Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 10:30am and Thursday, 10/27 at 1:30pm.  Call Dawn Stillwagen, 610-398-2563, dstillwagen@mealsonwheelslc.org.

MORAVIAN HALL SQUARE, Nazareth needs volunteers for their Good Spirits General Store/Gift Shop.  Must commit to at least one 2 or 3 hour shift per week.  Times needed are 2-4:30pm Monday, 10:45am-2pm or 2-4:30pm most Tuesdays, 10:45am-2pm Thursday, some Saturdays are available 10:45am-3pm.  Training provided after application and background check.  Call Laurie Brunstetter, 610-746-1334, laurieb@moravian.com.

PLEASURE OF YOUR COMPANY THERAPY DOGS, INC., Kutztown has several volunteer opportunities available.  Therapy dogs are needed to visit residents of Kutztown Manor from 7-8pm every 2^nd Monday of the month.  At the Brandywine Library, children read to therapy dogs to develop their love for reading.   Therapy dogs visit residents of Cedarbrook Nursing Home every 2^nd Wednesday of the month starting at 7pm.  Therapy dog teams must be registered  PoYC tested teams.    Call Helene Skopek-Krygier, 570-814-6078, poycdogs@yahoo.com.
