THIS WEEK’S VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES IN THE LEHIGH VALLEY

AMERICAN RED CROSS OF THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY, Allentown is looking for an Events Partner to coordinate events and be the single point of contact for all event requests within the chapter.  This volunteer will gather information for requests, obtain approval, train and schedule volunteers, maintain records and schedule of events, track inventory of supplies and help develop new materials and activities for community events.  For more information, call Susan Kalkhuis-Beam, 484-403-4718, volunteerservices.NEPA@redcross.org.

CENTER FOR VISION LOSS, Allentown is looking for volunteers to be “Annie’s Angels” to do home visits, read mail, and provide companionship.  Volunteers to drive customers to doctor appointments, shopping, or center activities are also needed.  Hours are flexible and are determined by need.  Training will be provided.  Call Rita Lang, 610-433-6018, rita.lang@centerforvisionloss.org.

FOUNTAIN HILL CEMETERY needs volunteers (16+ years) for weeding, trimming of shrubs and weed-whacking in the Green Meadow Natural Burial Ground. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY LV RESTORE, Whitehall is looking for “Mixologists” to come and ReMix latex paint to create new recolor latex paint product for sale at the ReStore.  Volunteers will assist with sorting colors, opening paint cans, mixing paint, dispensing the new paint, and labeling new cans.  Shifts are 10am-2pm or 2pm-5pm on Thursdays and Fridays.  Call Camille Urbano, 610-776-7737, Camille@habitatlv.org.
