AMERICAN RED CROSS OF THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY, Allentown is hosting an information session on Wednesday, May 24 at 6pm at their 3939 Broadway, Allentown site. Learn about their mission and how you can get involved. Many opportunities are available in Disaster Services, Community Disaster Education, Financial Development, Logistics, and Volunteer Services. BETHLEHEM SPECIAL OLYMPICS needs one day volunteers for annual Aquatics Invitational on Saturday, May 20th. Volunteers will help escort athletes to their correct lanes, help with lunch, and other areas. The meet is from 8am-4:30pm; volunteers are needed for at least 4 hour time periods. CANCER SUPPORT COMMUNITY GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY, Allentown needs volunteers for their Annual Boutique at the Rink, a sale of new and gently used items. Help set up now-5/19 or work 4 hour shifts on Sales Days 5/30-6/3. Volunteers serving 30 hours or more during pre-sale activities will earn an “early shopping opportunity” on Wednesday, 5/31 from 8am-9:30am. CEDARBROOK NURSING HOME, Allentown needs volunteers to help residents have some “reel” fun fishing in their on-site fishing hole. Volunteers are needed 10am-noon and 2-5pm on May 30-June 2nd and June 5-9th. Volunteers will bait hooks, cast rods, and unhook caught fish. Some fishing experience is needed. GRACEDALE NURSING HOME, Nazareth needs high school students (14+ years or entering 9th grade) for their Summer Youth Program. Volunteer Monday-Friday between 9am-3pm helping with activities, escorting residents to appointments within the facility, and doing friendly visits with residents. HISTORIC BETHLEHEM MUSEUMS & SITES needs volunteers for their “Rooms to View“ House and Garden Tour on Saturday, June 3. Volunteers are needed for either a whole day from 9:30am-4:30pm or for one of two shifts – 9:30am-1pm or 12:30pm-4:30pm. Locations to be assigned. ITTY BITTY KITTY, INC., Allentown needs volunteers to clean and maintain their Adoption Center in PetSmart, Quakertown seven days a week. Morning shifts and evening shifts are available. MEALS ON WHEELS OF LEHIGH COUNTY, Allentown needs volunteers (18+ years) to go grocery shopping for homebound seniors and adults with disabilities in an area of Lehigh County that works best for you. Flexible scheduling based on client’s needs (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). A 40 minute orientation is required. Orientation scheduled on Friday 5/19 @1:00pm, Friday 6/9 @6:30pm, and Wednesday 6/28 @6:30pm or call/email to schedule a one-on-one that fits your schedule.
