ALLENTOWN RESCUE MISSION, Allentown is looking for volunteers to help plan their “Thanks for Giving” Food and Supply Drive.” This is a major fall event, and you can help by serving on a committee, keeping event meeting agendas and minutes, overseeing event logistics and details, making sure tasks are completed in a timely manner, etc. Your help is needed to make our event a big success. CEDARBROOK NURSING HOME, Allentown needs volunteers to help with Church Communion. Assist the pastor and staff in serving communion to their residents at an in-house church service on the third Sunday of each month from 2-3pm. A short training will be provided. NORTHAMPTON CTY. HISTORICAL & GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY, Easton is looking for volunteers interested in being a receptionist/hospitality host in the Sigal Museum lobby for three hour shifts mornings or afternoons from Wednesday-Sunday. Interact with visitors by providing information about the organization (services/activities/exhibits), doing cashier needs, and assisting patrons. Training will be provided. PLEASURE OF YOUR COMPANY THERAPY DOGS, INC., Kutztown is looking for volunteers willing to share their therapy dogs with residents of Lehigh Valley nursing homes. Another way to volunteer is by having children read to therapy dogs to develop their reading skills. Therapy dog teams must be registered PoYC tested teams. SACRED HEART HOSPITAL, Allentown needs reliable, customer service-oriented volunteers. Help to brighten the lives of our patients and visitors by volunteering in their Gift Shop, running errands, greeting/assisting patients, and staffing the Information Desk. Training will be provided. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, Orefield needs volunteers to help at the ranch and for fundraising events such as fairs and parades. Help with the large, small, and exotic animals – clean pens, feed and exercise animals, or general animal care. Grounds maintenance volunteers do small repairs to pens, grounds clean up, and care for trees/shrubs, etc. Camp counselors (18+ years) are also needed for Summer Ranch Camp 9am-2pm for July 10-14 and July 31-August 4. THE MIRACLE LEAGUE OF LEHIGH VALLEY, Schnecksville is looking for volunteers (12+ years) who like to play baseball. By helping children and adults with special needs play baseball, you get to participate in something you enjoy and enable others to share in this experience. Become a “Baseball Angel” and help players bat, run or walk, and catch. Volunteers are also needed to be announcers for games.
