AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY, Greater Lehigh Valley needs volunteers (age 21+) to step up to the “wheel” and drive cancer patients to scheduled treatments. “Road to Recovery” drivers must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, a reliable vehicle and proof of insurance, complete a background check and driver check, and attend a brief orientation. GRACEDALE NURSING HOME, Nazareth needs volunteers to escort residents to appointments within the facility. Opportunities are Monday-Friday 9am-3pm. MEALS ON WHEELS OF NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Bethlehem is seeking meal delivery volunteers (18+years). Volunteer daily or as little as twice each month, according to your availability. Volunteers must possess a valid driver’s license and have car insurance. Application process includes criminal background check, orientation, and on-the-road training. LUKE’S UNIVERSITY HEALTH NETWORK, Bethlehem needs volunteers to help support patients, family, and staff by volunteering in the Gift Shop, Volunteer Escort Service, or Patient Information Center. Each of these areas provides a valuable service by being a kind ear to listen, assist people in selecting gifts for their loved ones, helps patients or visitors find their way, transport items throughout the hospital, and much more! THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, Orefield, is an animal sanctuary for 70+ pets and farm animals rescued from abuse or neglect. Volunteers are needed to feed/water their ranch animals, perform environmental clean-up, and do ground maintenance including winterizing pens and wiring the roof on the turkey pens. THE SANCTUARY AT HAAFSVILLE, Breinigsville is rapidly growing in the number of dogs and cats saved and needs volunteers to support this expansion. All kinds of volunteers and volunteer leaders are needed including: Foster homes, event planning, community event coverage, fundraising, treasurer/bookkeeper, grounds maintenance, and animal care including walking, socializing, and grooming.
