Artists Robert Taylor and Darrel George Slated for Talk Back Series
On Thursday, October 2, from 6 to 8 p.m., artists Robert Taylor and Darrell George are featured artists for the Talk Back Series, at The Bethlehem House Contemporary Art Gallery, located at 459 Main Street, Bethlehem.
Contemporary figurative artist, Robert Taylor grew up in Bethlehem, and worked in NYC and the West Coast as a branding expert for Fortune 500 firms before turning full time to figurative contemporary painting. Taylor studied at the Pratt Institute of Art, and created branding and packaging campaigns for the likes of Disney, Mattel Toys, and Proctor & Gamble. Taylor is noted for his vivid portraits in a mostly unnatural palette. He considers such artists as Andy Warhol, Chuck Close and Edward Hopper as inspiration. Taylor’s work is in major private and public collections throughout the USA.
Painter Darrell George has exhibited in galleries throughout the East coast, in New Jersey, Philadelphia at The Rittenhouse Square Fine Arts Show, and the French Quarter of New Orleans, at Cresson’s Fine Art Gallery. He is noted for expressive figurative work, portraiture, and dream like landscapes featuring the human form. George grew up in Red Bank, NJ, and spent much of his formative years in athletics and college football. George uses primarily oil in a multi-dimensional technique, considers artist’s Francis Bacon, Richard Diebenkorn, and Wayne Thiebaud as influential in his style.
The artist’s work is on view at Bethlehem House Gallery, through October 25th.
