RebaCountry Superstar Reba McEntire to Headline Musikfest Aug. 11

It will be a night of nonstop hits when country music icon and 13-time Academy of Country Music Award-winner REBA headlines Musikfest Aug. 11 at 7:15 p.m. The performance, which will also features singer-songwriter Caroline Kole, will take place at the festival’s Sands Steel Stage at PNC Plaza. With a successful career that spans across music, television, film and theater REBA has become a household name. She has achieved a rare pinnacle with 35 No. 1 singles and more than 56 million albums sold worldwide, all garnering her a spot in the upper echelon of No. 1 albums in the country genre. The Country Music Hall of Fame inductee has won 15 American Music Awards, 13 ACM Awards, nine People’s Choice Awards, seven CMA Awards, two Grammy Awards and an ACM Career Achievement Honor.  She’s also one of only four entertainers in history to receive the National Artistic Achievement Award from the U.S. Congress. Most recently, she was awarded the first-ever NASH Icon Award during the inaugural American Country Countdown Awards.

REBA is also an acclaimed actress with 11 movie credits to her name, including Tremors, North & The Little Rascals. In 2001, she made her Broadway debut in Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun, which the New York Times hailed as “without qualification the best performance by an actress in a musical comedy this season.” She also starred in the six-season eponymous sitcom Reba (WB Television Network/The CW) and Malibu Country (ABC).

REBA’s most recent single is “Going Out Like That,” which debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, her highest debuting single in her career. This summer, she will join forces with Brooks and Dunn to launch the “Together in Vegas” residency at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

The REBA concert is supported by media partner Cat Country 96. Opening the show is the 17-year old Kole, a Texas native who released her debut EP, “Money to Me,” in January 2014.  Kole originally got her first big break when Narvel Blackstock, REBA’s husband and manager, heard her song “Old Enough to Love.” Over the past couple of years, she has gone on to share the stage with some of country’s biggest stars, including REBA, as well as Eric Church and Blake Shelton.

One of the largest music festivals in the nation, Musikfest features more than 500 performances on 14 stages throughout Bethlehem over 10 days.
