Be a Rock Star Photographer at Musikfest! – Photography Workshop with Brian Hineline
Benefitting ArtsQuest Arts Programming Fund
August 6, 3:30 p.m. – George Thorogood and Southside Johnny
August 7, 3:30 p.m. – STYX and Foreigner (sold out)
Each is limited to 6 students only!
This is a unique opportunity to work behind the scenes at one of the largest music festivals in the nation with Brian Hineline, who’s photographed hundreds of concerts over the past 15 years for Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Time Magazine, Entertainment Weekly and other publications. Participants will have one hour in the Olympus Digital Classroom to learn tips and techniques from Brian and get advice on gear and taking fabulous concert photographs. Then it’s on to the festival grounds to shoot at the free stages, including behind-the-scenes candids that the public doesn’t have access to. Capping it all off, you’ll be in the “media pit” with Brian – only feet from the stage – photographing STYX & Foreigner or George Thorogood and Southside Johnny.
Musikfest Street Performers
Musikfest’s buskers have always been very popular with families. This year Musikfest has added an additional street performer to the festival (3 each day). Look for fire breathers, break-dancers, pogo stick stuntmen and more:

Wacky Chad – pogo stick stuntman, comedian

There were several weddings at the festival over the years and these are always very special occasions. This year Kathy Adolt and John Silva will be married on the last night of the festival by The Bridge, the 70-foot-long steel and fire sculpture on the SteelStacks campus.
John is a liver transplant survivor and a spokesperson for the Gift of Life, the organization from which he received his liver. Bethlehem Mayor John Callahan, a supporter of organ and tissue donation, will officiate at the celebration and Kathy’s son, a graduate of LVPA and a vocal major, and two daughters will perform at the event.
