Lehigh Valley Zoological Society Announces New President & CEO
The Board of Directors of Lehigh Valley Zoological Society announced the selection of Melissa Borland as the new President & CEO to lead Lehigh Valley Zoo. Ms. Borland will began her new role as of Monday.
Prior to joining the Zoo, Ms. Borland served as the Executive Director of the Miracle League of Lehigh Valley where she honed her leadership, development, community relations, and volunteer experience over six years. A Kutztown University graduate, Ms. Borland previously worked f or the Orefield campus of KidsPeace and Cornell Abraxas, operating programs for children in need.

She brings an incredible ability to run and operate a family-friendly operation,” said Salvatore B. Verrastro, Principal, Spillman Farmer Architects and Lehigh Valley Zoological Society Chairman. “We are fortunate to have found another President who shares our passion and enthusiasm for educating visitors, supporting research and providing a safe engaging and enlightening experience for our animals and guests. We are confident that Melissa will successfully lead Lehigh Valley Zoo into the next decade.”
