LISA MARIE PRESLEY, COWBOY JUNKIES, KEVIN DEVINE & BRIDGMAN|PACKER DANCE PERFORMANCE COMING TO STEELSTACKS

Lisa Marie Presley, alt-country and roots rock band Cowboy Junkies, singer-songwriter Kevin Devine and a multimedia dance performance by acclaimed dance choreographers Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer are among the new shows announced for the ArtsQuest Center, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem. On June 12, 8 p.m., the Musikfest Café will welcome Lisa Marie Presley. Since launching her music career in 2003, Presley has released two platinum albums, “To Whom It May Concern” and “Now What,” while collaborating with artists such as Pat Benatar, the Smashing Pumpkins and Pink.  In 2012, Presley released the album “Storm & Grace,” described by Spinner.com as “the strongest album of her career.” Tickets for her show are $30-$40. VIP Tickets, which include premium seating at the front of the venue and a pre-show meet and greet with Presley, are also available for $190.

For more than 20 years, the Cowboy Junkies have been recording and performing critically acclaimed alt-country, folk and roots rock music that has earned them a dedicated following. The Canadian group has released eight albums and appeared on numerous television shows including Saturday Night Live, Late Night with David Letterman and The Tonight Show. The group’s fame spread with its second album, The Trinity Session, recorded in 1987, with The Los Angeles Times naming the recording as one of the 10 best albums of 1988. The Cowboy Junkies will perform at the Musikfest Café Feb. 2, 7:30 p.m.; tickets are $37-$42.

On March 28-29, 8 p.m., the ArtsQuest Center’s Fowler Blast Furnace Room will host Bridgman|Packer Dance’s Voyeur and Under The Skin.  Described by The New York Times as “ingenious… magical and fascinating,” Voyeur, the newest work by Guggenheim Fellows Bridgman and Packer, pushes their exploration of the live and virtual into new territory choreographically, thematically and technologically. The performance, which uses the paintings of Edward Hopper as a point of departure, includes an installation component where prior to the performance the audience is invited to enter the set to explore the video projections. The evening also includes Under the Skin, a piece that uses dancers’ bodies and costumes as projection screens and has been hailed by The Boston Globe as “flat-out exhilarating.” Tickets forthe Voyeur and Under The Skinperformance are $20.

On. Jan. 8, 8 p.m., Indie rocker Kevin Devine will perform in the Fowler Blast Furnace Room. Originally the frontman for Miracle of 86, the Brooklyn-based Devine released his first solo album in 2002 and made his major label debut on Capitol Records with Put Your Ghost to Rest. Tickets for Devine’s show, which is presented in partnership with SLP Productions, are $10 in advance and $12 at the doors.

Also coming to the Blast Furnace Room will be The Associated Mess Celebrates Festivus! Dec. 21, 10:45 p.m. This evening of improv comedy by the Lehigh Valley’s premier short-form improv troupe will incorporate suggestions from the audience and include a number of crazy, comedic scenes, all made up on the spot.  Tickets are $5.
