And a party it was! The In Vision Photo Festival aligned with the internationally renowned Slideluck Show to kick off Lehigh Valley Photography month, which runs through November at venues throughout the Lehigh Valley region. There have been Slidelucks in Panama, Nairobi, Paris, LA, Boulder, Ann Arbor, and now in Bethlehem!
The evening get-together drew many lovers of photography to the Musikfest café for food and drink, music, camaraderie, and of course significant photographic contributions presented in Slideshows to music from established photographic artists and newcomers to the art. Entertaining, thought provoking, innovative, funny, beautiful and engaging photography was shown to the large, eager crowd against the gorgeous backdrop of Steel Stacks. The lively band That Being Said rocked the house with lots of familiar tunes!
Janet Lipzin, Director of Visual Arts & Education at ArtsQuest excitedly introduced the SlideLuck Show to great applause from the audience. Ms. Lipzin has grown the In Vision Photo Festival from an inaugural event last year to over 40 venues this year throughout Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, and Kutztown. If you love the art of photography, this month is for you. For a guide to artists and venues go visit In Vision.
On a personal note I was fortunate to cross paths last evening with a photographer whose work I’ve admired many times over the years. I look forward to seeing Ryan Hulvat’s photographic presentation, “In the Shadow of Tom Joad” at Home & Planet in Bethlehem!
This truly is an amazing line up of photographers and works in our area. Come on out and enjoy the talent of our region in great locales this month!
Very nice pics!
