Can you slow-motion run, sing in a foreign language and talk to a car as well as actor, singer and German icon David Hasselhoff? Then share your talents with the masses at the all-new Hasselhoff-Off competition Oct. 7, 8 p.m., at Oktoberfest at SteelStacks.

Adored and embraced as one of their own, Germans can’t get enough of The Hoff, so what better way to celebrate an Oktoberfest event than by running in slow-motion to the “Baywatch” theme song? Hasselhoff-Off contestants will also show off their Hoff-like good looks in a costume and impersonation contest. Things then get trickier with a simulated beach rescue, a “Knight Rider” car-conversation challenge and karaoke songs to be performed in German.

The contest winner will gain eternal Oktoberfest fame and take home a prize pack that includes, among other things, a pair of red swim trunks. To enter, visit www.steelstacks.org/Oktoberfest. Contestants must be 18 or older.

Now in its sixth year, Oktoberfest is a free festival taking place Sept. 30-Oct. 2 and Oct. 7-9 on the SteelStacks campus, First Street and Founders Way, Bethlehem. Also on tap at this year’s event are plenty of German food, beer, live music and dachshund races, a perennial favorite at the festival.
