The Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital Pediatric Unit is starting a new support group for parents of children with special medical or complex needs. The first meeting will take place on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the Pediatric Unit, 2855 Schoenersville Road, Bethlehem. Light refreshments will be served. Future meetings will be held the last Monday of every month at the same time and location.
The support group is free and will be led by a Good Shepherd pediatric behavioral health counselor. It is open to parents of children with any special medical or complex needs, including congenital disorders, chronic illness, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, developmental delays or disabilities and traumatic injury (brain injury, spinal cord injury, burns, amputation). The group will offer parents an opportunity to share experiences and receive education on topics chosen by the group.
Parents who wish to attend should register by calling Good Shepherd at 1-888-44-REHAB (73422) or email callcenter@gsrh.org.
