Join Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites for the annual Blueberry Festival July 20 and 21 at Burnside Plantation, our 6.6 acre Farm in the City of Bethlehem.
Back by popular demand is the blueberry pie eating contest, the most delicious competition in town! Separate categories for adults and kids will enable contests to race to finish their delicious tart size blueberry crumb pie as quickly as possible…without using their hands! The contest is offered twice daily at 1:00 on the Main Stage and 2:15 PM on the Heritage Stage. The kid’s competition takes the stage first with the adult competition beginning immediately after. Tarts for the competition are provided by Tombler’s Bakery in Easton.
Make sure that you get a place in this popular competition, sign up to participate as soon as you arrive at the festival at the Information Booth located next to the Johnson Barn. If you are not interested in competing, cheer on the contestants and root for your favorite participant.
If you love blueberry pie but want to eat it at your own pace, visit The Historic Bethlehem Dessert Tent. Find blueberry pie (by the slice or whole pie), peach pie and strawberry rhubarb as well as blueberry strudel, crumb cake, muffins, bagels, fritters and new this year, blueberry cupcakes! Dessert tent baked goods are provided by Tombler’s Bakery, The Bakery Nook and Weis Markets with blueberry swirl ice cream by the Bethlehem Dairy Store.
Festival hours are 11am to 7pm on July 20 & 21, 2013. Burnside Plantation is located at 1461 Schoenersville Road in Bethlehem. Parking is available in the shadow of Martin Tower, entrance off 8th Avenue.
