Musikfest HeaderGolfers, runners and Musikfest fans looking for a unique way to enjoy their favorite festival will want to be part of two great, new events designed to support ArtsQuest’s free music and arts programming for the community – the Musikfest 30th Anniversary Golf Tournament and the Musikfest Color Me Rad 5K

On July 8, 12:30 p.m., Locust Valley Golf Club in Coopersburg will host the Musikfest 30th Anniversary Golf Tournament, a four-man scramble highlighted by food stops at several holes where golfers can enjoy Musikfest favorites served by some of the festival’s most popular food vendors. The event will conclude with a buffet by Mr. Bill’s Poultry and music by 99.9 The Hawk.

The tournament is limited to 36 foursomes and will include two flights. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams in each flight, as well as for the longest and straightest drives and the closest shot to the pin. Any golfer who scores a hole in one on the 17th hole will receive a three-year lease on a new Hyundai Genesis courtesy of Vinart Lehigh Valley.

golf-tournament-news“The Musikfest 30th Anniversary Golf Tournament is a great way for golfers of all skill levels to spend time enjoying their favorite hobby while also helping to support music and arts programming that everyone in the region can enjoy,” said ArtsQuest’s Scott Hough, coordinator of the tournament. “Locust Valley has really upgraded its greens and its facilities, so participants will have a great experience playing this course. We thank Locust Valley, Vinart Lehigh Valley, Mr. Bill’s Poultry, 99.9 The Hawk and all of our partners for making this fund-raiser possible.”

Entry fees are $380 per foursome or $100 per person and include greens fees, golf cart, Musikfest gift bag and food & beverages.   Registration forms are available at www.musikfest.org and the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.

ArtsQuest is also looking for sponsors to help present this fun day on the course. Sponsorship packages include a foursome in the tournament, as well as other great benefits. For more information on becoming a sponsor of the event, please contact Scott Hough at shough@artsquest.org or 610-297-7119.

Musikfest 5KOn Aug. 3, runners of all skill levels will have a brand-new, extremely colorful way to explore Musikfest when they take part in the first Musikfest Color Me Rad 5K. The race, during which runners are doused with non-toxic colored cornstarch at various points along the route, will wind through the festival grounds, passing by popular Musikfest venues such as Wells Fargo Festplatz, Plaza Tropical and the Sands Steel Stage. Complete details on the race will be announced later this spring. Registrations will be accepted at www.colormerad.com.

Proceeds from the Color Me Rad 5K and Golf Tournament will support ArtsQuest’s music, arts and education programming for the community, including the 500 free concerts the nonprofit presents annually at Musikfest. For more information on Musikfest 2013, visit www.musikfest.org.
