WDIY 88.1FM, Community Public Radio is celebrating the 13th anniversary of its annual fundraiser, “Heart of the Valley” Antiques Show on March 2 & 3, 2013. As they celebrate this anniversary, they are proud to, once again, have the City of Bethlehem as a Major Sponsor of the event.

During the first weekend in March, the Charles Brown Ice House, 56 River Street, in the heart of historic Bethlehem will be transformed into an antiques collector’s wonderland. Twenty-five select dealers will be offering quality wares in the form of textiles, pottery, folk art, quilts, primitives, toys, holiday décor, painted, formal and country furniture and so much more. People love to attend this show as much for the location as for the dealer offerings. “When you pair what these dealers bring to exhibit with the architectural elements of the structure, you have quite a fabulous looking space in which to browse and buy.” says Anne Bedics, the show’s manager.

Returning to the event are Jim Woodruff Antiques who has always brought a nice selection of furniture, folk art and country smalls; Distant Past Antiques will return with a good mix of furniture and smalls; Ivy Hill Primitives will be bringing an array of large and small quality furnishings for the country home; others include: Robert Apgar Antiques, School House Farm Antiques, The Cat Lady Antiques, RFD Antiques, Anderson-Breish Antiques, Michelle Colbert Antiques, Gisella Gruss Antiques, Ayscough Antiques,Sandbrook Antiques ,The Old Wood Shed, As Good As Old, as well as many other customers’ favorites. New to the show this year are: Blue Dog Antiques, Stafford Springs, CT; Ricky L. Bauder Antiques, Stevens, PA; Tex Johnson Antiques, Adamstown, PA; Therese Podoyak Antqiues, New Tripoli, PA; Olde Country Antiques of Highstown, NJ. These are just a few of the quality dealers who will transform this historic structure along the Lehigh River and transport the shoppers back in time.

“This is one of the few antique shows with a soundtrack,’” remarks Bedics. “After all, we are raising funds for Community Public Radio so why wouldn’t we want to enhance your shopping experience with the sounds of Ella Fitzgerald, The Beatles, Big Band, Jazz and a variety of music, putting you in the mood to enjoy yourself while searching for that treasure.”

Soups, salads and snacks will be available for purchase, so that shoppers can “rest up” and “recharge” while enjoying the exhibits.
