Alejandro EscovedoSinger-songwriter Alejandro Escovedo and Vocal Group Hall of Famers Jay and the Americans will rock the Musikfest Cafe presented by Yuengling this May. Tickets are on sale at steelstacks.org and 610-332-3378.

After cutting their teeth playing to college crowds in the late ’50s, Jay and the Americans quickly harmonized their way into mainstream airwaves with the breakout single, “She Cried.” The song hit No. 5 on the charts, paving the way for several other hits like “Come a Little Bit Closer,” “Cara Mia,” “This Magic Moment” and “Some Enchanted Evening.”  On May 19, 7:30 p.m., you can see this dynamic group at the Musikfest Café.

Rocker Alejandro Escovedo takes the stage May 15, 8 p.m. The prolific singer/songwriter and guitarist has released 12 solo studio albums, including 2012’s Big Station. He has played at venues ranging from saloon stages to Carnegie Hall and was crowned Artist of the 1990s by No Depression magazine. In 2014, Escovedo’s cover of The Dandy Warhols’ “We Used to Be Friends” was featured in the soundtrack for the movie Veronica Mars.

The Musikfest Café is located at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.
