Festival to offer live music, soccer festivities & big match shown on 2 large screens on PNC Plaza

With a 2-0 victory against top-ranked Germany, the U.S. Women’s National Team has advanced to the finals in the FIFA Women’s World Cup™, and the Lehigh Valley SoccerFest and Viewing Party at SteelStacks will show all the action.  Two giant outdoor LED screens on SteelStacks’ PNC Plaza will feature the big game as the U.S.A. takes on Japan July 5, 7 p.m.

The Lehigh Valley SoccerFest kicks off at 5 p.m. with a free performance at the Levitt Pavilion by The Aardvarks, one of the region’s most popular live bands. The evening will also feature soccer-festivities including soccer tennis and Kwik Goal kickboards, as well as food and beverages.

For the finals, the viewing party action has shifted to PNC Plaza to accommodate the solo acoustic concert by GRAMMY-winning music icon David Crosby of Crosby, Stills and Nash, who performs at 8 p.m. in the Musikfest Café. Limited tickets for Crosby’s concert are still on sale at www.steelstacks.org.

“The SteelStacks campus is quite spacious and PNC Plaza, with the towering blast furnaces in the background, will offer an excellent viewing opportunity for soccer fans,” says ArtsQuest President and CEO Kassie Hilgert. “Not only will the plaza have two large screens for watching all the action, it will also provide flexibility for setting up tables and a variety of food and beverage stands.

“We thank everyone who has helped to make this year’s SoccerFest a great success, and we look forward to seeing the region come out one more time to show its support and cheer on the U.S. Women’s Team to victory.”

Screens for the viewing party are being provided by Mobile Technology Graphics, which assisted ArtsQuest when the original jumbo LED screen vendor was no longer available following the Round of 16. The Hellertown-based company rearranged schedules to bring in screens between events in South Carolina, as well as Fort Knox in Kentucky, so that SoccerFest could continue showing the U.S.A.’s games as the team battled its way to the finals. Mobile Technology Graphics has provided outdoor viewing screens for major corporate events and festivals across the country including sporting events such as the Rose, Fiesta and Cactus Bowls.

“Although we take part in events from coast to coast, this is one of the few events we’ve done right here in our own backyard,” says Mobile Technology Graphics president Mike Estojak. “We are glad we could assist ArtsQuest, while at the same time contributing to make the Lehigh Valley SoccerFest one of the premier sports viewing events in the region, if not the nation.”
