Blues BrotherhoodLadies and gentlemen, hold on to your hats (and shades) because Blues Brothers tribute band The Blues Brotherhood, along with The Nerds and high-energy Celtic-folk band Burning Bridget Cleary, are coming to the ArtsQuest Center’s Musikfest Café presented by Yuengling this winter. Tickets for the performances are on sale at www.steelstacks.org and 610-332-3378.

The Blues Brotherhood covers the best material from the original Blues Brothers, as well as classic blues, funk and soul tunes. Capturing the unique sound, energy and persona that propelled the Blues Brothers into the phenomenon that still thrills audiences around the world, this act is one you won’t want to miss. Still not convinced? On Feb. 27, 7:30 p.m., at the Musikfest Café, the band will perform with the legendary Tom “Bones” Malone of the original Blues Brothers. Malone is also known for leading the Saturday Night Live band from 1981-’85, and being a member of the CBS Orchestra and the house band for the Late Show with David Letterman.

Playing a blend of soul, classic rock and TV themes, The Nerds are Monty Python and Howard Stern meet Revenge of the Nerds. This four-piece band/stage show has performed everywhere from the PNC Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J. to Carnegie Hall, and even appeared on Good Morning America, The View, Carson Daly and more. After more than 25 years of performing alongside acts like Sheryl Crow, Hootie and the Blowfish, Earth Wind and Fire, Train and Maroon 5, this group has no intention of slowing down. See it perform March 4, 8 p.m., at the Musikfest Café.

With a captivating sound and engaging stage presence, Burning Bridget Cleary is currently one of the hottest young acts on the Celtic and folk music circuits. Named after the last witch burned in Ireland, this band’s fire can’t be put out. In 2013, its fourth CD, “Pressed for Time,” hit #1 on the Roots Music Folk and Roots Charts and finished the year as one of the Folk DJs most played albums. If you haven’t caught this high-spirited Celtic band at one of its Musikfest shows, see it March 17, 7:30 p.m., at the Musikfest Café.
