The Art Establishment Hosts Month-long Celebration of Fantasy Art
Friday October 2nd Opening Reception
The Art Establishment Studio’s Running Wild; A Celebration of Fantasy Art kicks off on First Friday, October 2nd 6:00 to 10:00 PM, featuring Fantasy Artist Dorian Vallejo doing a live demo, drawing from life using a professional model. Chat with the artist, enjoy music and refreshments. The Art Establishment is located at 945 Broadway, Fountain Hill, Bethlehem.
On Saturday, October 3rd from 2:00 to 4:00PM, the interactive adventure continues with world-renowned Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell who will engage in a rare casual discussion/ Q&A with the audience. Reception to follow.
Meet other acclaimed artists throughout the month – Joseph A. Smith, Ian Summers, Jeff Echevarria, Dean Jones, and more. Running Wild will conclude with a magical Masquerade Party on Saturday, October 31st 8PM to midnight. Costume prizes, food, music, and more. Let your imagination run wild!
Dorian Vallejo: Born into an artistic family, Dorian Vallejo began drawing before he could walk and was regularly illustrating covers for Marvel Comics in his teens. Today, he is one of the country’s most accomplished portrait painters, creating deeply sensitive work. He is also a favorite IlluXCon artist of imaginative realism.
Boris Vallejo: Born in Lima, Peru, Boris Vallejo’s first drawings were on his mother’s kitchen walls. After attending the National School of Fine Arts in Peru, he immigrated to the US, where quick praise for his Tarzan and Conan illustrations helped launch his career. His rich and inventive style led to work with nearly every major fantasy and sci-fi publishing house, and he is now one of the most revered fantasy artists in the world.
Julie Bell: Art comes as naturally to Julie Bell as does breathing, and that powerful life force is apparent in her work – her primary focus being animals and the human figure. Her advertising illustrations for the elite of the corporate world, such as Nike and Coca-Cola; book covers for major NYC publishing houses; album covers for artists such as Meat Loaf; and commissions for Marvel, DC, and Image Comics have thrust her to the top of the field of superstar illustrators.
The Art Establishment, located at 945 Broadway in Fountain Hill, PA 18015, is on a mission to enable amateur artists who are rich in passion but lack space, resources, and support.
