Service Electric TV2After an afternoon of fierce yet fun competition Oct. 11, the Service Electric TV2 team led by Al Di Carlo and Kristi Fulkerson retained their crown by winning the second-annual Raven One to One Marketing Celebrity Skills Challenge at Oktoberfest presented by Yuengling. Joining them as champs of the 2014 Oktoberfest Skills Challenges at the festival is The Bayou, which topped nine other area eateries and bars Oct. 4 on the way to capturing the Oktoberfest Bar Skills Challenge. In addition to the skills challenge winners, Oktoberfest has announced that Holly Fields-Scott and Nevada Scott captured first place for the second year in a row during the Oktoberfest Decorative Beer Barrel Competition.

During the Celebrity Skills Challenge, the Service Electric TV2 team led by Di Carlo and Fulkerson beat out nine other celebrity-led teams taking part in four fun-filled challenges like stein relay races, a barrel rolling competition and the new Bethlehem Sausage Werke Brat Toss.  Other competitors included 99.9 The Hawk, Adams Outdoor Advertising, John Callahan’s Brew Crew, LehighValleywithLove.com, Lehigh Valley IronPigs, The Morning Call, Professional Bull Riders, Two Rivers Roller Derby and the WZZO/B104 Radio team. Service Electric TV2 was also the winner of the inaugural Celebrity Skills Challenge in 2013.

At the Bar Skills Challenge, The Bayou bested nine other area taverns by posting the fastest aggregate time while competing in five different events. Other taverns taking part in the competition included the 50-Yard Line Sports Bar, Beer Mussels Bar & Grill, Corked Wine Bar & Steakhouse, McGrady’s Wing & Burger Bar, Molly’s Irish Grille & Sports Pub, PJ Whelihan’s Bethlehem, Rippers Pub, Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem and Tally-Ho Tavern. As a reward for its victory, The Bayou took home the Yuengling Travelling Trophy, as well as bragging rights until next year’s challenge.

As the winner of the Oktoberfest Decorative Beer Barrel Competition, the Scott family earned a $200 first-place prize. Second place in the competition went to Tatiana Hernandez of Allentown, while Alicia VanDerSluis of Allentown captured third place.
