Martin Guitar Musikfest Contest Coincided with Debut of Martin Jam Tent at Musikfest 2015

Martin Guitar2Since its debut in 1965, the Martin D-35 guitar has become a favorite of musicians and artists ranging from Johnny Cash and Bruce Springsteen to Seth Avett and John Mayer. Now, thanks to Musikfest and C.F. Martin & Company, Mike Fitzgerald is also the proud owner of one of these iconic acoustic guitars.

A resident of Media, Pa., Fitzgerald was presented with a new Martin D-35 (retail value $3,399) for winning the Martin Guitar Contest at Musikfest 2015. This past week, Fitzgerald travelled from his Delaware County home to the Martin Guitar Factory in Nazareth, where he had the opportunity to meet C.F. Martin & Company Chairman & CEO Chris Martin, who personally presented him with the instrument.

“By offering Musikfest-goers the opportunity to win a Martin guitar, we hope to add to the excitement and tradition that this remarkable music festival brings to us each summer,” says Chris Thomas, Director of Artist Relations at C.F. Martin & Company. “It is a natural partnership between two organizations that are founded in music and culture, and who call the Lehigh Valley home.”

The Martin Guitar Contest coincided with the debut of the Martin Jam Tent at Musikfest 2015. Located at SteelStacks, the Jam Tent featured Martin Guitar’s complete line of acoustic guitars on display, providing a unique opportunity for thousands of festival attendees and performers to explore these handcrafted works of art. Musikfest was part of a select group music festivals and events across the nation that hosted the Jam Tent in 2015, helping to shine the spotlight on the legendary, family-owned business located in nearby Nazareth, Pa. Founded in 1833, C.F. Martin & Company has been making the finest acoustic guitars for more than 180 years, attracting the attention of musicians and performers from around the globe.

“Musikfest is extremely fortunate to have such an iconic and well-respected music brand right here in its own backyard,” says ArtsQuest Sr. Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Partnerships Curt Mosel.  “C.F. Martin & Company has been an important partner of our event for many years, and this year they really added to the festival experience by bringing in the Martin Jam Tent. The opportunity to check out Martin’s guitars at the festival was a huge hit with performers and patrons alike, and having an internationally recognized partner like Martin at Musikfest really adds to the credibility of the event.”
