Lehigh RiverFest offers recreational whitewater boaters a celebration of the sport, the Lehigh River, and the community that is built along it’s winding path through the Pocono Mountains. Located in Weatherly, PA the Lehigh RiverFest boasts a ‘Paddler Package’ offering two nights of camping, Saturday morning breakfast, and complimentary river shuttle. Avoid the hassle of setting your own shuttle and enjoy all the festivities when you sign up for this weekend package.

Plan a day out with your family. Lehigh RiverFest on October 10, 2015 is offering free admission, free entertainment, and free parking with plenty to do for all ages. Even if you prefer to stay on dry ground there are activities and entertainment all day long. Live musicians including Matt Miskie, Double Shot Duo, The Bandana Brothers, and Lost Boys will be entertaining from 10:00am-11:00pm. This is a great way to spend your Columbus Day weekend and enjoy the peak of the fall foliage in the Southern Pocono Mountains.

Vendors will include organizations such as the Wildlands Conservancy and New York Met Life offering free child fingerprinting. Crafters will be selling a variety of handcrafted goods from jewelry, organic soaps, wood crafts, home décor, and primitives. Vendors will have outdoor gear, delicious food and various other products for sale. A portion of festival proceeds will go to the Wildlands Conservancy and the Whitewater Challengers Scholarship Fund.

Friends and family will join together at the Lehigh RiverFest to enjoy live entertainment, outdoor gear vendors, crafters, local non-profit organizations. Smells of smoked food, glows from the bonfire, and music in the air will await boaters back at the campground when they return from a day of paddling the upper Lehigh Gorge. Other activities in the evening will give you a chance to win awesome Lehigh River garb.

Official news from the Army Corps of Engineers is that the dam will be release an enhanced level of water on October 10 and 11, which means bigger rapids and more fun on the Lehigh River. This is the last chance of the season for whitewater enthusiasts to enjoy the river at the level of a recreational dam release. Reservations are required for guided whitewater rafting trips. Other activities that will be available the day of the festival include trail biking, paintball target range and zipline.
