BOSTON, the dynamic rock group that took the world by storm with its multi-platinum selling debut album in 1976, will headline Musikfest 2016 when it rocks the festival’s Sands Steel Stage Aug. 9, 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available at www.musikfest.org and 610-332-3378.
Launched by studio technician, producer and musician Tom Scholz, BOSTON became an iconic rock fixture when they joined the music scene with their self-titled album in 1976. With more than 17 million copies sold, Boston generated hits such as “More Than a Feeling,” “Foreplay/Long Time,” “Peace of Mind” and “Smokin’,” staples that are still in heavy rotation today.
BOSTON’s second album, Don’t Look Back, was another chart-topper that confirmed the group’s place in rock history, followed by Third Stage, which hit No. 1 on the charts, with the top single of 1986, “Amanda.” With more than 31 million albums sold, BOSTON has stood the test of time, as evidenced by the live audiences at its shows that span generations.
This summer, BOSTON is celebrating its 40th anniversary with its Four Decades North American Tour. Fans can expect to hear all the classic songs they have grown to love, and be treated to some new additions to the group’s set list based on recent requests.
Sponsors of the BOSTON concert are BioSpectra and ServiceMaster by Round the Clock Cleaning, along with media partner 99.9 The Hawk. One of the largest music festivals in the nation, Musikfest features more than 500 performances on 16 stages throughout Bethlehem over 10 days. Dates for the 33rd edition of the festival are Aug. 5-14, 2016.
