steelworkers logoTake a walk in the shoes of a steelworker, learn how the blast furnaces worked and discover the untold stories of Bethlehem Steel during the “Steelwalkers,” the walking tours presented by the Bethlehem Steelworkers’ Archives at SteelStacks on Saturday mornings.  Tours will take place Saturdays through Nov. 7, 11 a.m., with the exception of July 4 and Aug. 8 and 15.

With Steelwalkers, guests discover what life was like working at the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. from the men and women who worked at the plant.  The tours, which are led by members of the Steelworkers’ Archives, cover the skills and collaboration needed to make steel, while touching on the excitement and danger that came with the job.  Each tour concludes with a question-and-answer session with a longtime steelworker.  Tickets are $15 per person and free for ages 12 and under; they’re on sale now at www.steelstacks.org or by calling 610-332-3378.
