Turkey trot 2015Join Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites for the 13th Annual Historic Turkey Trot 5K Run and Walk on Saturday, November 28. The picturesque USATF- certified course will begin in the historic Colonial Industrial Quarter, located at 459 Old York Road, and will continue through the National Historic Landmark District of Historic Moravian Bethlehem.

Registration is open for the Turkey Trot 5K Run and Walk. Be sure to register for this fantastic annual event that supports over 300 years of history and 20 historic sites. Fun Walkers are welcome to bring dogs and strollers.

This year, Santa will be attending the race. Participants will have the chance to take their photo with Mr. Claus after the race in the Colonial Industrial Quarter.

Groman’s famous Moravian Sugar Cookies and kiffles will be available for purchase during the duration of the race near the Luckenbach Mill.

Guests are encouraged to visit the Holiday Dinner Art Exhibition preview held in the 2nd floor of the newly renovated Luckenbach Mill on Friday, November 27 from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. and on Saturday, November 28 from 9 a.m. through 12 noon. The Art Exhibition features prominent local artists including work by Ben Marcune, Sandra Corpora, Lee Branagan, Bernie Taylor, Pat Deluva, Andrew Bartos, and Gene McInerney.

Guests can participate in the Turkey Trot as runners, competitive walkers, or untimed fun walkers. Prizes for 1st and 2nd place will be awarded in six age groups, as well as to the overall male and female winners in the competitive walk.

Participants are encouraged to gather friends, family members, fellow alumni, and coworkers to register as a Turkey Team. Turkey Teams will get a special shout out from the event DJ. Turkey Teams are encouraged to showcase their creativity by making team T-shirts or fun and festive costumes to wear on race day.

All registered runners will receive a long sleeve Turkey Trot T-shirt, complimentary refreshments, and free admission to HBMS museums Saturday and Sunday with the race T-shirt or bib.
