STEELSTACKS HOSTING OSCARS®VIEWING PARTY FEBRUARY 22
Fundraiser to benefit Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas and ArtsQuest film program at SteelStacks
It’s a celebration of Hollywood, complete with a multiple-screen telecast of the 2015 Academy Awards®, when the nonprofit ArtsQuest hosts its annual Viewing Party for the Oscars® at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem, Feb. 22, 7 p.m. Tickets for the event, a fundraiser for the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas and ArtsQuest’s film program at SteelStacks, are $15 for ArtsQuest Members and $20 for the public. They can be purchased at www.steelstacks.org, by calling the ArtsQuest Box Office at 610-332-3378 or visiting the Box Office at the ArtsQuest Center.
The Viewing Party will start with a simulcast of the Red Carpet arrivals and raffles for framed posters of this year’s Oscar-nominated films. Though wearing special attire is not required, ArtsQuest encourages guests to dress up for the viewing party, with prizes for Best Dressed Couple, Best Dressed Male and Best Dressed Female to be awarded before the Oscars® ceremony starts. There will also be an Oscar Pool where participants try to predict the winners in 10 different award categories, with the person who comes closest in his or her predictions earning a 2015 Season Pass to see films at the Alehouse Cinemas.
Food, specialty-themed drinks, beer, wine and soda will be available for purchase at the Mike and Ike Bistro. A voucher for one complimentary beer, wine or soda will also be included with each ticket purchased.
Starting at 8:30 p.m., the telecast of the 87th Academy Awards® will be shown on the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas’ screens and in the ArtsQuest Center’s Capital BlueCross Creativity Commons. In addition, SteelStacks’ SmartsQuest Quizmaster, Steve Bost, will host movie-themed trivia during the telecast, with contestants competing for tickets to a variety of ArtsQuest Center programming.
