George & Joanne

Finding Love 30 Years after being High School friends!

Joanne hadn’t noticed she was smiling though her workmate did, and asked, “Joanne what are you smiling about?” Replying exactly like a woman in love, Joanne blushed, “I’m thinking about George again!”  Together as a couple about 15 months, George and Joanne  knew each other in high school over 30 years ago at Council Rock in Newtown.   It was Facebook that brought them together again .  Joanne saw George’s profile photo and it took her breath away!  Last Spring George proposed to Joanne.  They were married this past October and live happily with their dog Lucy.

Joanne and George describe their relationship as soulful, peaceful, and natural.  She loves that George is such a happy person.  “He is always very kind and respectful to me and others.  I believe you have to be happy with yourself before you can be happy with anyone else.  Happiness, respect and joy are a very natural part of our relationship.”

Of course romance plays a huge role in their relationship and they continue to surprise each other with cards, flowers, or breakfast in bed on a work day! Joanne exposes her playful side leaving romantic sticky notes around their home for George to find.  George showed his romantic nature on their wedding night when he had champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, white rose petals scattered about the floor and a dozen red roses waiting for Joanne in their hotel room.

Spending time together in pajamas by a fire, sipping champagne, home relaxing, watching a movie, or going to dinner is how they like to spend most of their time together.  If heading out, The Melting Pot is their favorite local spot.

The couple has had a very busy year with dating, getting engaged, having a wedding, selling a house, and Joanne’s move to PA.  Now that they are settled they look forward to the many new adventures to come in their bright future ahead!
