DierksChart-topping country superstar Dierks Bentley wants fans to ‘Come a Little Closer’ when he headlines Musikfest with a Sands Steel Stage performance Aug. 7, 7 p.m. Tickets are available at www.musikfest.org and 610-332-3378.

Debuting with two platinum selling records – Dierks Bentley in 2003 and Modern Day Drifter in 2005 – Bentley rose to stardom on the strength of hits like “What Was I Thinking,” “How Am I Doin,’” Settle for a Slowdown,” “Lot of Leaving Left to Do” and “Come a Little Closer.” In 2005, he was awarded the Country Music Association’s Horizon Award for Best New Artist, while also being invited to join the Grand Ole Opry. Bentley then continued his string of hits with songs like “Every Mile a Memory,” “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go),” “Feel That Fire,” “Sideways,”  “Home,” “I Hold On,” “Drunk on a Plane” and “Say You Do.”

Bentley’s most recent recording, Riser, was released in 2014, topping the Billboard Country Albums chart and reaching No. 6 on the Billboard 200. His newest release, Black, featuring the No. 1 hit, “Somewhere on a Beach,” is due out May 27.  During his career, the Arizona native has produced 14 No. 1 hits, earned 11 GRAMMY nominations and sold well over five million records around the globe.

Opening the Dierks Bentley show is singer-songwriter Tucker Beathard, whose single, “Rock On,” is currently No. 26 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.  The concert is supported by Coordinated Health, JetPay Payroll Services, Mack Trucks and Tito’s Vodka, in association with media partners Cat Country 96 and 69-WFMZ-TV. One of the largest music festivals in the nation, Musikfest features more than 500 performances on 16 stages throughout Bethlehem over 10 days.

Dates for the 33rd edition of the festival are Aug. 5-14, 2016.
