The Fé Foundation announces the retirement of president and founding trustee, Alvaro A. Diaz, effective August 2016. Diaz has led the organization since the inception of its flagship “Futuros Empresarios” Program (translated to “Future Entrepreneurs” in English), or FE Program, in 2009. The FE Program seeks to deliver comprehensive life skills and entrepreneurial training to minority Lehigh Valley high school students, particularly Latinos, with the goal of increasing their rates of academic, economical, and social success. Additionally, the FE Program provides mentorship opportunities to allow students to build relationships with college and business mentors that last for years after they complete the program.
“We are very grateful for Alvaro’s vision, energy, and enthusiasm running our organization, especially during its infancy, and wish him happiness in his well-deserved retirement”, said Fidel Gonzalez, chair of the Foundation’s board of trustees.
“The Fé Foundation is a labor of love and hard work,” said Alvaro. “At this time of passing the torch, I’m happy that we have a board of trustees that is fully committed to the organization and its mission,” he added.
Alvaro looks forward to spending time relaxing with his family as he embarks on retirement.
The Fé Foundation, a 501(C)3 non-profit organization, was created to advance the educational and community outreach initiatives of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of the Lehigh Valley for the betterment of the community.
A search committee has been formed to find a suitable replacement for Alvaro’s position.
