Karen Michael Shea of Danielsville, PA, co-owner of Michael’s Food Concessions and Mobile Office Secretary for S & S Amusements, was named the 2015 Pennsylvania Showman of the Year at the state convention in Hershey, PA on January 22nd.

Karen started in the food concession business at the young age of 12, working at the Kutztown Folk Festival in the Waffle and Ice Cream stand for her father. As she grew older she took time off from selling food to raise kids, and then it was back on the road. To this day nothing is more important than her family. She really has two families, one biological and one professional. He passion, loyalty and caring for the professional family, is only outdone by her love for the biological one.

Karen has been involved in the Pennsylvania State Showmen’s Association for many years, serving in various committees; plus, she has served as the Eastern Chapter secretary for about 20 years.

You will see Karen at nearly all S & S Amusement spots, the PA Farm Show Vegetable booth in the Food Court and at Seiple’s Farm Pumpkin Patch in the fall.

PA Showman of the Year is given for excellence in the outdoor amusement business, outstanding service to the industry trade association, support of community fairs and festivals and overall business integrity and leadership. Karen embodies all of these qualities.
