Public Invited to Submit Photos for New Exhibit & Contest

Deadline to submit images is Nov. 4; winner will receive a new Olympus OM-D Camera

Are you passionate about photography? Think your images are gallery quality?

For the first time in its history, the Olympus InVision Photo Festival is inviting members of the public to submit their photos for free for exhibition at the festival’s premier event, the InVision Photo Party. One image will be selected as the “Fan Favorite,” with the winner taking home an Olympus OM-D E-M 5 Mark II Mirrorless camera and a 12-40mm f2.8 PRO lens, courtesy of Olympus. Works submitted for the exhibit and contest will be showcased on large TV screens during the party, which takes place Nov. 7, 7-10 p.m., in the ArtsQuest Center’s Musikfest Café.

Images for the Olympus InVision Photo Party may be submitted now through Nov. 4 via the InVision website www.invisionphotofestival.org. The party will also feature live music by the Fabulous Greaseband, light refreshments, cash bar and more. Tickets are $30 and available now at www.invisionphotofestival.org and 610-332-3378.

The Olympus InVision Photo Festival takes places Nov. 5-8 at the Banana Factory and ArtsQuest Center in Bethlehem. Highlights of the festival include an exhibition and a Nov. 7 presentation by “National Geographic,” “Time” and “Life” photographer Rick Smolan, best known as the creator of the bestselling “A Day in the Life” book series; and the “A Day in the Life of Bethlehem” photo excursion on Nov. 8 led by Smolan and the Olympus Visionary photographers. During the photo excursion, participants will work alongside the pros as they visit and photograph at unique locations such as the roof the Historic Hotel Bethlehem, The Bookstore Speakeasy and the decaying Turn and Grind Shop at the former Bethlehem Steel plant.
