Legendary Roger Hodgson, vocalist and original singer-songwriter from Supertramp, will perform at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center with his band on Sun., Nov. 9, at 7:00 p.m. Hodgson is recognized as one of the most gifted composers and lyricists of our time. He helped define a generation of progressive rock and wrote and sang Supertramp’s globally successful and enduring anthems such as Breakfast in America, Give a Little Bit, Take the Long Way Home, The Logical Song, Dreamer, It’s Raining Again, School, Fool’s Overture — songs that helped the band sell well over 60 million albums to date.
Hodgson co-founded the progressive rock band Supertramp in 1969 and was with them for 14 years. He wrote and sang most of the classic hits that brought Supertramp worldwide acclaim. Roger recently received 2 awards from ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers) for his songs being in the top played songs in their repertory, proving that they have indeed stood the test of time. Roger continues to perform his classics he recorded with Supertramp and other fan favorites live on tour around the globe.
Uniting generations at his concerts, Hodgson transports baby boomers back to their youth and gives younger generations a taste of why his heartfelt songs have endured. Audiences are once again experiencing the magic and spirit that Hodgson created with Supertramp.
His North American dates follow an extended Europe and South American trek, and kicks off on November 4th in Wabash, Indiana and wrap over two night — November 14th and 15th in Rama, Ontario.
Out now is Hodgson’s live album, featuring his greatest Supertramp hits performed solo, with his band, and with an orchestra, called Classics Live. What an amazing night this is going to be. I am counting the weeks. I last saw Roger Hodgson in April in Milwaukee and was hooked from the first notes of the first song. That flawless voice of his sounds even better today than 30-35 years ago and what warmth he shares with his audience. It is so very obvious that Roger is up on stage enjoying himself and not just going through the motions as with so many other artists I have seen. If you were or are a fan of Supertramp, you’ve got to see Roger Hodgson, their voice and co-founder in concert. Do what it takes to get there. Not to mention, it is Roger who also wrote and composed the band’s greatest hits. Check out this video from Roger’s channel for a glimpse of what you’ll see at his show – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMLNeSbtVN0
yep – got my tix for this show! saw Roger and his band when they played the Keswick Theatre last year … phenomenal & mind-blowing just barely describes the experience …. i was just so surprised how many amazing hits he was the mastermind songwriter of, all the best songs & the gems too kept coming one after the other, a non-stop “wow”-ing show, those guys in the band pic above were unbelievably super- Roger & band made the songs come alive, even better than the first time I ever heard the original albums.
