Free Summer Music Series at Lehigh Valley Mall Begins This Saturday

Local Mall’s Saturday Music Showcase Returns for Second Year

Saturday Music Showcase, Lehigh Valley Mall’s free music concert series, returns for its second year during the month of June. Sponsored by Sands Bethlehem Event Center, the concert series will feature the region’s top musical acts each Saturday in June from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Outdoor Summer Lounge, located within the mall’s Lifestyle Center. Attendees with a valid email address will have the chance to win a beach ball, can koozie, lei, or pair of sunglasses each week, while supplies last. Lehigh Valley will also raffle off a $50 American Express® Simon Giftcard® each week to one lucky Showcase-goer.

“We’re excited to kick off summer with a great line up of family-friendly musical performances during our Saturday Music Showcase at Lehigh Valley Mall,” said Elizabeth DiDuca, Director of Mall Marketing. “It’s a fan favorite within the community and all ages are guaranteed to have a great time.”

Opening the Saturday Music Showcase on June 7 will be UUU, the “you name it, we play it” party band that’s played everywhere from Virginia to New York. Based in Pennsylvania, UUU has played over 4,500 shows across 15 states in its 19 years on the cover scene, and has been featured on VH1’s hit television show, “Cover Wars.”

On June 14, grab your beach chair and suntan oil because Jimmy and the Parrots will take the stage and transport the crowd to the islands. With experience playing alongside legends like Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi, Jimmy and the Parrots remains one of the most requested Jimmy Buffet cover bands in the country, performing everything from Buffett’s hits to classic rock ‘n roll songs.

Sunshine Symphony will entertain audiences on June 21, bringing a fresh variety of songs with tight rhythms and multi-part harmonies, thanks to a group of highly skilled, experienced musicians and performers. Dubbed the brightest new over band, Sunshine Symphony was recently named a Top Philadelphia Cover Band by CBS Local Philly in 2014! Also taking the stage that same day is Easton School of Rock, a leader in music education for kids from second grade through high school. To date, “SoRockers” have played thousands of concerts at legendary venues including The Knitting Factory and The Roxy.

The grand finale for Lehigh Valley Mall’s Saturday Music Showcase on June 28 will feature popular 1960s cover band The Large Flowerheads. Returning this year to close the show, The Large Flowerheads will take the crowd back to the groovy decade through timeless classic performances from The Beatles, Neil Diamond, The Rolling Stones, Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Box Tops and more.
