971972_522656291114728_591876481_nThe community will be able to shop for a variety of fresh produce, freshly baked breads and locally-raised meats produced by the region’s farming community when the Art District Farmers Market opens on Bethlehem’s SouthSide June 1.  

The Art District Farmers Market, which is hosted by the Bethlehem Parking Authority, will take place at Third and Taylor streets every Saturday through Sept. 28. Hours for the market, previously held at SteelStacks, are 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

At the Art District Farmers Market, shoppers will find nine different vendors offering the seasons’ best and freshest from the region. Market attendees will be able to purchase local fruits and vegetables, ethnic and vegan prepared foods, plants, herbs, locally produced honeys, homemade jams, alpaca wool products and more. In addition, they can enjoy live music, cooking demonstrations and fun family activities.

On opening day, the first 100 visitors will receive a free seedling donated by Chris Cummings of Springfield Tree Company.  GT3, along with musical guests Zak Carson from Moravian College and Chris Cuvney from Lehigh University’s jazz ensemble, will perform at 10 a.m.
