ForeignerMulti-platinum selling, chart-topping rock group Foreigner is offering one area high school choir the opportunity to sing its smash hit “I Want to Know What Love Is” with the band when it performs at Musikfest Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. Choirs interested in ‘auditioning’ for the gig can apply by taking part in the Foreigner Choir Contest presented by 99.9 The Hawk.
 
The WODE Foreigner Choir Contest is open to high schools choirs in Bucks, Lehigh, Monroe and Northampton counties in Pennsylvania and Warren and Hunterdon counties in New Jersey.  Choirs wishing to participate in the contest must submit a three-minute video of them performing their favorite Foreigner song or any song of their choice. Videos must be emailed to singwithforeigner@gmail.com or dropped off at the WODE studios, 107 Paxinsoa Road West, Easton, PA 18040 between May 20 and 26.

From May 28-June 2, the public is invited to visit wode.listenernetwork.com to vote for their favorite choir. The contest winner will be announced on 99.9 The Hawk June 3 at 8 a.m. and join Foreigner onstage when the band performs at the Sands Steel Stage Aug. 7. In addition to performing with the choir, Foreigner will donate $500 to the high school’s choir program.

Legendary rock group Foreigner has been delighting audiences from coast to coast since its debut in 1976. Over the years, the group has produced 16 Top 30 hits, including nine that made the Top 10 on the charts. Among its biggest singles are the smash “I Want to Know What Love Is,” which topped the charts in 1984, as well as “Waiting For a Girl Like You,” “Double Vision,” “Hot Blooded,” “Feels Like the First Time,” “Urgent” and “I Don’t Want to Live Without You.” In 2012, three of the band’s songs – “I Want to Know What Love Is,” “Juke Box Hero” and “Waiting For a Girl Like You” –  were included in the blockbuster movie Rock of Ages.
