Lehigh Valley’s 1st Festival Focused on Refreshing Summertime Drink Includes Live Music, Games and Opportunity to Sample 10 Different Sangrias
It’s a fusion of two of Europe’s most popular imports when ArtsQuest and South Italy Imports partner to present the first SangriaFest Aug. 27 at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.
At SangriaFest, attendees can sample 10 different sangrias, all made with light and refreshing wines imported by South Italy Imports from family-owned vineyards throughout Italy. The drinks, with names like the Puglian Pounder, Fiano Beachcruiser, Giuliani Plum Runner and Mango Orange Meltdown, are designed to complement the afternoon’s live music lineup, enhancing the summertime vibe for guests. Performers taking the stage during the afternoon include rockers Flowers For Taco, singer-songwriter Tim Harakal and the popular Billy Bauer Band.
Other highlights of SangriaFest include delicious food, fun games like beanbags and quoits, and a chance for guests to take their best shot at local celebrities sitting in the SangriaFest dunk tank. Proceeds from SangriaFest will go to support the nonprofit ArtsQuest’s free music, arts and education programming for the region, while revenues raised from the dunk tank will go to the Angel 34, the nonprofit dedicated to bringing hope and healing to families of those affected by childhood cancer.
Tickets for SangriaFest are $20 for ArtsQuest Members and $25 for the public. A limited number of VIP tickets, which include early access to the event from 3-4 p.m. and the opportunity to sample handcrafted sangria cocktails designed by area restaurant mixologists, will also on sale for $35. All VIP ticketholders will also receive an official SangriaFest Lanyard and have the opportunity to vote for their favorite drink as the “Best Sangria of SangriaFest 2016.” Tickets are on sale at steelstacks.org and 610-332-3378.
